I need to do a complete jitter tolerance characterization. My old HP 71612C can not do jitter. Neither can the Advantest D3186 or the Anritsu MP1763C. What can?

The Agilent N4903A or N4903B is the only complete jitter tolerance BERT in the market. It can measure all timing parameters and Jitter characteristics.

re:jitter tolerance characterization
It can characterize a receiver’s jitter tolerance and is in compliance to today’s popular standards, such as PCI Express, SATA, Fibre Channel, Fully Buffered DIMM, CEI, 10 GbE/ XAUI, and XFP.

So it does Random and Peridioc jitter along with Intersymbol Interference?

Yes, with options it can do RJ, PJ, SJ, BUJ injection, ISI and Sinusoidal, SSC clocking, bit recovery and more from 150 Mb/s up to 12.5 Gb/s.
