there are some key differences with HDMI 1.4. first: there is less cables needed for ethernet and audio return channels. Next there is a greater heighted viewing experience which supports 3D, 4K x 2K resolution (4 times the resolution of 1080p) and additional color spacing for a richer natural reproduction of colors like you would see in a Digital still camera. There are also multipul connector styles for different devices such as the camera, mobile phone and even for your car.
