First you need to know the following: Lowest measurement range (Please note that the lowest range is not the sensitivity or resolution of the instrument) and the Number of digits (in counts) |

Maximum sensitivity = Lowest Measurement Range / Number of Counts |

For example an Agilent 34401A (6.5 digits = 2,000,000 counts) Lowest Measurement Range is 100.000 mV. So the maximum sensitivity on an Agilent 34401A is (Maximum sensitivity = 100 mV / 2,000,000 = 0.05 uV or 50 nV) |
